Heroes Live Here
Heroes Live Here™ encourages children and youth to discover what makes a hero heroic, to celebrate the everyday heroes in their own lives, and to act heroically themselves through projects that reach out to their community.
Heroes Live Here is a model – a flexible guide for community educators, from teachers and coaches to camp leaders and youth group guides – and can be easily modified and adapted to suit school-based or community-based programs for children and youth in kindergarten through Grade 12.
The model leads participants through three steps: discover the heroes’ stories; celebrate the heroes among us; and choose to act heroically. Read more about Heroes Live Here.
The Heroes Live Here Planning Guide is a practical, easy-to-read guide that outlines how community educators can create customized learning programs for children or youth. You can download a free PDF version of the guide, as well as a map that summarizes the Heroes Live Here model, and planning templates that can be filled out electronically.
