Regional Arts Summits BC

2010 Legacies Now, working with local organizations, including BC’s arts service organizations, will present Regional Arts Summits.

The Regional Arts Summits offer professional development to artists working in all genres and disciplines, arts organizations including arts councils, arts presenters, museum and gallery representatives, facility managers, students, businesses and government representatives.

The objective is to enhance the skills, knowledge and expertise of those working in the sector, as well as to strengthen regional networks to encourage increased communication, collaboration and cooperation.

Vancouver Island Arts Summit
Monday, October 26 from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM
Tuesday, October 27 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Nanaimo Centre Stage
25 Victoria Road, Nanaimo
Presented by 2010 Legacies Now, Arts, in partnership with Theatre BC and the Assembly of BC Arts Councils

The following are the host regions with dates, if available:

• Vancouver Arts Summit: June 25 - 26, 2009
• North West Arts Summit: Smithers – September 25 – 26, 2009 
• Island Arts Summit: Nanaimo – October 26 - 27, 2009
• Thompson/Okanagan: to be announced
• Kootenays: to be announced
• North East: to be announced
• North Central: to be announced

The program for each of the events includes inspiring speakers, workshops, roundtable discussions, regional meetings, networking opportunities, performances and other special events. The length of the Summit will depend on the location, program and availability of host venues. The event will generally be one and a half to two days maximum.

• Creating a Culturally Inclusive and Responsive Organization 
• Board Development
• Fundraising 
• Financial Management 
• Grant writing
• Web 2.0 and Social Networking/Media
